Replace trunk lid or body shop?
Hello Honda Tech Community,
I am wondering how much it would be to fix this dent through a body shop. What do you guys think? Or should I just get a new trunk lid? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

A bump on the curve like that is going to be hard to pull out. Your best bet would be to find a junk yard within a few hours and go pick up a replacement trunk. I seriously doubt any shop is going to be able to pull that without having to repaint it.
The only sure way of getting an estimate is to go around to a few shops near you and have them tell you.
In my experience though, any part that is removable and has a big dent like that, most of the time it's cheaper to just replace the entire part. Go around to junkyards or eBay and find an equivalent part that is the same color. Should cost around 200 to get a replacement, at least in my area.

Thanks guys for the responses !!! I found a junkyard that sells a 1996 coupe trunk but its black. They are selling it for 125 USD and supposedly it is in good condition. How much would it be for a paint shop to color match it with the rest of my car?

My guess would be in the 2 to 300 range depending on the shop. Find two shops close together and tell them the other shop will do it cheaper. Most shops are pretty competitive
OK Just found another junkyard that sells a silver trunk lid for 2000 civic HX. they are selling it for 200. I might buy it depending on the condition. Is 200 a fair price? Also will it fit ?
Any '96 - '00 Civic coupe trunk lid will fit. Fair price is very dependent on where you are. If it's in really good shape and already happens to be the right color it will save you from having to get it painted, keep that in mind. Silver is pretty forgiving in terms of fading.
