96 Civic door panel removal from rear door that won't open?

Icon3 96 Civic door panel removal from rear door that won't open?

My door wont open and i wanna know why so i want to take off the panel and tips?

I believe that you can remove the panel of the closed rear door if you remove the rear seat.

I can open the door if i take the handle from inside and pull on the metal bar thats attached to it

I'm not following you. Why not remove the door panel so that you can figure out the door latch issue? Is the child protection lock on?

when i got my car the doors work,then one day i put the child lock on and now it doesn't open from the inside or the outside but i can get it open if i pull the metal rode that's attached to the inside door handle..i got the door open and turned the child lock off and still have the same problem ,still won't open from either side

Remove the door panel and post pictures of the child lock mechanism. It's probably faulty - stuck on.

when you do have it open you can use a screw driver to latch the lock on the door while testing it
pust the screw driver shaft into the lock "just like the door latch plate rod"

If the rear door is not opening from the outside you probably have a broken bush joint which part 3 in the diagram below. This part is attached to a rod which connects the door handle to the door lock. A new one costs about four dollars from Honda, it seems from my research and experience that this part commonly breaks on our 4 doors. Good Luck

i fixed it today, the part 27 came undone and i put it back and works fine now, thank you everyone
