Obd1 gsr swap tick
Recently swapped a 1995 obd1 gsr (only modification is a skunk2 intake manifold) in my brothers 2000 civic ex. I was told the engine had 87,000 miles and decided to replace the obvious stuff timing belt, water pump, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, valve adjustment. Well got the engine finally buttoned up took it for a test drive everything was normal rev'ed perfectly no excess noises vibrations. Went to take another drive when we pulled up to a stop light noticed a slight ticking noise. It sounds identical to a stop watch but a lot louder. I have heard a gsr injector tick and know it wasn't that. The valve lash was triple checked once it cooled down for a several hours. The ticking is pretty loud and goes with the rpm whether the car is hot or cold. I should be able to get a video shortly. any advice would be much appreciated.
Found a thread on google about lma's sticking and causing a tick. Found a video that sounded nothing like my issue. But I decided to pull the valve cover back off and manually press each one down with my thumb. Found that there was a little slack on cylinder 1 and 2 on the intake side. I'm guessing that is the cause. If anyone has a somewhat loud tick pop the cover off and check for a little slack in the lma's
