Icon2 93 civic dx build

I'm needing some advice and help. I'm running with the stock d15b7 and an automatic transmission. I want to put a 5 speed in it and build the motor up a lil. It already has a wide open exhaust and short ram intake. What else can I do to bump the performance a lil? It is my DD so I don't want massive changes. I'm looking into using all new stock internals and bumping the compression up a bit. Which parts would do this?

Will d16b5 pistons work with a d15b7 block? And internals?

get some p29 pistons to bump up compression, get a stock d16a6 cam with adjustable cam gear, better intake manifold from a z6 or y8, get a ex or si transmission cuz of shorter gears, and get a chipped 5 speed ecu after you make it 5 speed and get a good tune....thats if you want to stay as oem as you can

my advice is to not build the d15b7. i used to have one of those and they are absolutely completely turd bombs. if you want to get some good performance then dont wast another dime on that motor and save up for a good motor swap.

Only reason I'm rebuilding this motors is cuz this is my daily driver the frame is bent but im getting it fixed but I'm not wanting to put a whole lot of power to it. Just wanna help it out with a lil more power. I'm gonna get another hatch to build as a play toy which will be swapped.

And this is the original motor with 259000 miles on it and it has lasted even with me ******* the **** outta it. And I have another d15b7 short block that was donated to me to build. I'm using this as a platform simply cuz it already has all machine work done.

Cool. Thanks for the info. This block I've got has been overbored and has been resleeved with aftermarket sleeves. It is sittting at a machine shop getting looked over. My buddy owns the shop so I took it to him to double check everything.

It may be goin in instead if I cant find another shell for what Im wanting to pay that isnt fucked up. I may just get a four door for the family and build this car. But Im still looking for a cheap rolling shell in the mean time.

Just found out that the b18a1 has a gsr head and needs cams, cam gears, timing belt and valve cover. Not too damn bad for $100.
