Default B20VTEC will not crank

Hey all, I am pulling my hair out on why my newly built B20VTEC will not start. I am trying to start it to get the oil cycled before I take it to the tuner. Here are the things that are done:

New Alternator, Starter was checked at autozone, New Odyssey PC680 Battery with the PWJDM box, New starter and ground cables (4 gauge), Hondata S300 in a p28 and base map from Phearable. the tranny is grounded where the clutch cable bracket is, grounded to bolt on the oil pump, and grounded on the valve cover.

I smell the gas and it sounds like the fuel pump is working, but all it does is make a short whirring sound for a second or two. No clicking from the starter. The Main Relay clicks when I try to start it. the battery is 12.4 with a multimeter...what gives?

I am at my wits end here,

You have a "won't crank" problem.

If you use a wire to jump power from the + battery post to the starter solenoid terminal, does the starter motor crank the engine?

Do you mean an extra wire and not the positive wire going from the battery to the starter?

Yes

The starter motor has a large wire that runs directly to the battery via the hood fuse box. I'm talking about running another wire to the starter solenoid, which is the on/off switch for the starter motor.

Be sure the transmission is in neutral when you do the test.

I dont have a clutch master cylinder, so the pic is a little different. looking at my helms, are you referring to the clutch interlock switch and the rubber stopper it rests on when the pedal is depressed??

Yes. Some people just hot glue a coin over the hole, though buying an OEM replacement would be my preference.

It's a safety device the prevents the starter from cranking the engine unless the clutch pedal is depressed so that the transmission is disengaged from the engine.

The temporary fix until you get the new stopper is to short the two terminals of the interlock switch. Just remember to press the clutch pedal down before turning the key to ON(III) so that nobody gets hurt and nothing gets damaged.

Yeah, your part should be (46505-SA5-000) at your local honda dealer. Should cost $2.76 after tax.

(I work at my local Honda in the parts department) it's $1.66 for me
