Installing z6 on my sohc non vtec zc
Hey guys if I install a z6 head on my sohc zc do I have to do a lot of changes to my car for it to run right?is it worth doing?would i feelmthe difference?found a head for 130.
Then leave it alone.
Take this with a grain of salt as I am not saying this to be rude, no one can honestly tell you if it's worth doing. Only YOU can really decide that. Everyone has their own unique experiences so you can only make assumptions off of that.
Having said that, why don't you try drawing some conclusions about it. If you need a hand:
Both are 1.6 and share the same bore x stroke. Difference being the piston volume.
Now if you think about that logically you should see that what you'll end up with (mechanically speaking) is a SOHC VTEC with a different compression ratio. I'll leave that up to you to figure out the new compression ratio and when you do you should be asking yourself "Is this what I want?" It should be easy to figure out if you'll gain any power or not...but then again how healthy your engine is after the change will effect that as well.

I seen a lot of replies on other threads from you and your a dick lol but I like the honesty bro.means your real and not fake like other peeps, hard to find now a days.but I think just for ***** and giggles ima do that mini me swap.thanks bro.
It's not the first time someone has called me a negative name (and believe it or not I am trying to be more "polite" with my posts but it's the internet and I refuse to put a smiley after every sentence LOL). But I'm glad you got the point of my post. We've all been in those situations where we're unsure we wanna commit to an upgrade that involved. Without someone else's car that has the same exact setup you're looking to achieve right there in front of you for you to test drive, you're stuck with word of mouth opinions. Some say it's a night a day difference, some say it's not worth it. Who knows. The difference in power is relatively small anyway. If you've never done anything like that and you're confident in your wrenching skills I personally say go for it. If not, then leave it alone since it sounds like you're content with your ZC already (I'll add that I'm a firm believer in the ZC engines both SOHC and DOHC variants). That's the whole point of the hobby, learn and have fun. F what anyone else says including me.
Not a lot of changes I did this swap a few years back on my eg, u just need whatever vtec head ur going with, 2 extra wires for ur ecu clip for the vtec, the ecu that goes with the head, a gasket that fits that head. It's fairly easy and u will notice the vtec kicking in its a lot of fun
