Default Dome light works when passenger door is open, but not driver's door

I have a 98 civic dx where the dome light isn't working when the driver's side door is open. It works fine for the passenger door. Also, if I accidentally leave my headlights on, there is no warning chime. I think these problems are related.

I took out the door jamb switch and tested it. It's working fine.

So I'm thinking now it must be a bad wire that connects to the door jamb switch.

Another possibility I'm considering is the issue with aftermarket radios. I searched and saw people have problems after installing an aftermarket radio, and the fix is to jump the #8 and #14 connections on a green plug behind the radio that's no longer used. But since the dome light works for the passenger door, I think that isn't my problem.

Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions for me? I don't want to take off the interior panel to get at the wiring back there unless I really have to. If I need to do that, I'll probably turn to a professional.

After doing a little more research on another issue I'm having, which is the intermittent and park functions of my windshield wipers aren't working, I found this post that explains the function of the Integrated Control Unit: https://honda-tech.com/forums/showthread.php?p=48438397

It appears that my dome light, headlight warning chime, and wiper issues could all be related to a defective ICU.

So I went out to the car and found that the ICU is missing! This could be part of my problem Here's a pic of what I saw. This is under the driver's side dash. I think that white plug is supposed to plug into the ICU. Can anyone confirm my assumption?

The auto parts store opens at 9, so I'll give them a call and see if they have one, and more importantly how much it's going to cost me. I found a used one online for $45. Any idea what a new one might cost?

Update: this is resolved. I bought a new ICU from the Honda Dealer ($100) and installed it.

Now the following items are working:
1) intermittent wipers
2) wiper park
3) dome light when driver's door is open
4) headlight warning when headlights are on and driver's door is open and car is off

Holy smokes - $100? A used one at a junkyard would have been about $10. I recommend always checking used / second-hand sources first.

On a different note, I wonder how in the world the ICU went missing in the first place?!!

I was wondering how it went missing as well. I bought the car about a month ago so I don't know much about its history.
