91 Si - Radiator fan wires rigged and now fan isn't working
I have a 91 si. I drove my car earlier and i noticed that i smelled something buri ing. So i checked the wire that's connected to the ignition and It was warm. I followed it to my ignition and it felt really hot. I'm afraid that it's going to catch on fire. I think it's a short or a bad ground somewhere but not too sure. IF ANY ONE CAN PLEASE HELP ME!!!!
What wire is it?
There are only like 102130908098123897947109.1235E wires under the dash the go to the igntion.
Are you sure you are a real poster on this site and not just spamming questions to get a post count up?

Give him a break, sounds like a legit problem.
Is you car stock? or is it swaped, does it have an alarm or any DIY wiring?
I'm not sure where you would start diagnosing this except for pulling apart the harness so you can examine it. hopefully somebody else has a better method
Check your fuses and make sure they are the correct amperage

Lol na for real it's a problem
It's under the dash, a friend said that it might be the ignition switch. But the wiring is kinda tampered with because it was rigged for a system. But I don't have a sub just speakers

I would trace the wiring for the previous owners system. Just to ensure wiring is OK, you should try to return it back to its original state.
Look for wires that dont appear stock, and remove them. First trace their path just to make sure these are in fact useless.
Heres an old thread that could be helpfull https://honda-tech.com/forums/showth...light=ignition

its cause one of my ignition cords were rigged so that the radiator far would run when the car was running. now im confused to how im supposed to get the radiator to run..... the radiator wire was attached to the yellow (ground?) wire, and when i would remove it the white wire(the one that was heating up in the first place) wouldnt get hot anymore...
how does the radiator far normally wire up?

Hopefully the old wiring is still intact. Is there a un-used plug next to the radiator fan? you may just need to plug it back in.
Here's a thread with a diagram in it: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/iacv-ect-rad-fan-wiring-2954442/

The system is made up of a coolant temp switch, a relay, the fan and its wiring. You'll need to check out each of those components to see which one is the problem.
look at the pic at the bottom to see where the radiator fan relay is: https://honda-tech.com/forums/honda-crx-ef-civic-1988-1991-3/radiator-fans-dont-work-91-si-2577806/
Here's the coolant temp switch's location (its the second picture from the top): http://hybrid.honda-perf.org/tech/sohcvtec.html
The radiator fan plug is on the bottom passenger side of the fan.
let us know what you find.

I found the original wire that the radiator fan was connected to and the fan started to work continuously. So I thought it was okay but it just stopped working all of a sudden. I don't know if it's the relay or the coolant sensor or fan switch
So I'm now confused.
my GUESS is that you are trying to now wire the fan as if it were stock?
But when you try to do that, a fuse blows.
Is that correct?
If so, which fuse is popping?
My assumption is the fan fuse, but I want to make sure EXACTLY which fuse.
Then I can show you a schematic and which things to disconnect to figure out where you are getting a shorted wire.

Yeah I'm trying to wire it up originally but the wire harness is cut up at different places. I wired the radiator fan plug wires, blue wires together, and wired the black ones with a ground. Idk why but earlier it was working when I had it wired it would run all the time but now it just pops the fuses
Its to be expected that something is not right with your cooling fan system. Thats why the previous owner rigged it up.
The coolant fan switch is on the back of the block so it will be harder to get to (I'm not so familiar with the stock motor).
Test the cooling fan relay (look at the link I left above for its location). First unplug it and unbolt it, then with 2 wires attached to a battery - and +(dont touch them together) apply power to the 2 pins on the right (as you look at it with the release tab up) it should click, while applying power check for continuity between the other pins on the left. if there is no continuity the relay is bad.

When you say you wired them together you mean you spliced 2 wires together? That might be part of the problem. The radiator fan has one blue wire and one black/yellow wire (usa model),and the canadian model has a yellow/green and a black/yellow wire. You may have grabbed the wires for the condenser fan which are black and blue/black (usa and canadian)
Its likely the circuit is overloaded, which is causing fuses to blow. Go over the wiring again becuase you wont be able to find the problem behind all of this untill you wiring is back to normal.

Do these tests:
1) Unplug the fan relay. Install a new fuse 15.
2) Turn the Key to ON(II). Does fuse 15 blow?
3) If not, now ground the Blu wire terminal in the fan relay socket to the chassis. Does the fan run without fuse 15 blowing? Or does fuse 15 blow?
