Quick question... If I pop the hood on my dad's 97 Accord SE I can see two fans attached to the radiator. Are these fans supposed to blow air into the engine compartment OR is one fan supposed to blow air in while the other sucks air out ?? I tend to believe that one fan sucks air in while the other blows air out of the engine compartment but I want to check with someone else who has one of these cars. The question might seem silly, but my dad's mechanic told him that one of his fans is bad because it is sucking air out of the engine bay instead of blowing air in. Basically, I want some proof to show this guy that the fan is fine. Thanks !!

they should both pull air through the radiator,sounds like one is wired wrong, happens when an aftermarket fan motor is put in and not wired right.

 

Does anyone know of someone that is selling the radiator fan motor or whole assembly for a 97 accord lx?

 

I checked my Integra Type R which has a similar assembly with two fans on the a/c condenser. Apparently, they both suck air into the engine bay. I found some replacement fan/motor assemblies on ebay for $99 (Buy it Now). Thanks for the info guys.

hehe !!! Probably not, but it was the closest thing with a Honda engine that I could use to compare
