Look in the Audio/Security/Video Forum before you get a pitbull

kill switches. alarms are cool, but not the end all be all. get a paging alarm at least, if your pockets arent deep enough for gps tracking.

"Best for the money" isn't the right way to look at it. That implies cheap. Best layers is what you should be doing. There are a lot of theft deterrents that are either free, or extremely cheap (less than $10 in parts).

The Viper 350 2-way system is a great budget alarm. It is $100 or less online but that isn't including any accessories such as extra horns, door actuators, etc.

Toggle Switch Hidden for fuel pump is really a cheap way to do it.

Stun gun with leads under the seat on a pressure switch. Car fogger alarm, blinds your ability to do anything...

Not old enough for any lethal weapons but ill look into it in a few years. And I have a 2 month old germ Shepard so it's only a matter of time before he's rolling shotgun. I've heard a lot about the viper car systems. Are they worth the buy? What are some of the specs on that?

The 5904V will have a lot of worthless features for your car, that is better for newer cars. The 350 is the entry-level system but works well with this generation because everything the alarm offers the car uses. You're not paying extra for remote start and a bunch of security features your car is too old for.

The 350 1-way is $49 and 2-way is $99. I'd recommend getting the 2-way. If you install everything yourself you're looking at $150-200 total including the actuators, any relays or any other install equipment.

Do a search for "cause for alarm EG" on google and you'll find tremendous information over on EG6 I believe about alarm systems.

It's not about the system you purchase, its about the quality of the install. Most installers put the sercurity system in the same places. Easy to take out and disable.

You need to find someone who will take their time and do it correctly/hide stuff. Also install a siren inside the car with a backup battery. All sirens should have a backup batter. If a thief disconnects/or cuts the battery the alarm is useless.

You also want layers of security. It's a pain in the *** to own a Honda, almost not worth the headache with all the security you have to do just to drive it.
