Hey everyone! fairly new user here, novice at repairs.

My civic is leaking oil, which has caused the p1491 code before, keep refilling at a rate of about 1qt every month or so, give or take a week. Code is gone for a while now, due I assume to my attention to the oil level. Oil leaks onto my intake, and i think burns as well. Twice I changed it after a mere 1k mi, but the stuff still shows very black. Help?

Never taken apart my engine block before, but i have helped once with an early 90s ford, so i have some idea about the amount of work involved.

Post multiple clear pictures of where oil accumulates on the engine and the believed source of the leak.

 

If the oil is turning black right away it's a pretty good indication of stuck or worn oil rings causing blowby. That or the PCV valve went bad and it's sucking oil in the intake and burning it.

Check the PCV valve, see if it rattles, if it doesn't replace it and see if that helps. If not you're probably looking at an engine rebuild or replacement.
