Looking for wheel stud replacement How-To
can anyone link me a good wheel stud replacement how-to with pictures? all the ones i find are either not specific to our cars or the pictures don't work. thanks.
What year and trim Civic do you have? I have never been able to do the replacement in a 96-00. The hub must be pulled. Someone may debate me on this, but this is my experience with it. I personally tried to replace one on my 99. Not a fun situation.
I have never had a problem with a 92-95. Just move the stud over to an opening, and smack it with a hammer. Use a lug nut and a few washers to help pull the new studs into place.

Cut most of the end off the old stud and hammer it back through. Grind a little off one side of the head of the new stud and put in from behind using a lugnut to pull it all the way through. The proper way to do it without grinding the new stud is to remove the knuckle, press out the hub, replace the studs and then press the hub back in.
thanks for the replies so far.. im looking to replace them with extended studs and i dont want to grind any of the stud or hub. Thats simply not the right way to do things. the youtube video was entertaining though.. he really ground the **** out of that thing, id be pissed if i was "one of his customers."
a pictorial walk through of this is really what im looking for
im looking to do this on a 93 civic dx. i appreciate the thoughts.

If you are looking to install extended wheel studs, I believe the fronts need to be pulled no matter what. Pull the brakes off the hub, and see if you can slip a bolt past the hub/brake dust shield or w/e it is called.

From the service manual...
Here's a DIY for Ek, but I would say its a pretty generic process.
This is for someone who may not have access to a press to extract the hub.

there is enough room on the 92-95 dx to replace studs without any cutting or hub removal. its the 92-95 ex/si that need all that work.
