Default Noise and loose shift linkage

Hello Honda tech recently when driving my stock CRX DX if I press in the clutch I hear a noise that originates from the passenger side of the firewall, it sounds like something is scraping for a second(not grinding) and my shifter visibly moves about 2-3 inches in its spot in gear. Any possible answers to what it may be?

The noise may be coming from your thowout bearing.

Just to clarify what you said about the shifter, you say it moves 2 to 3 inches. Now do you meant when you push the clutch in it moves on its own? Or do you meant while you grab the shifter and wiggle it there is free play (in gear)?

There is a bit of free play in honda shifters so I wouldnt worry about it unless it is infact moving on its own. If it is moving on its own its likely one or more motor mounts (or the tranny mount) is bad or loose. The shift linkage itself could be loose (its mouning points).

It moves by itself and makes the noise only when torque is being applied or removed from the transmission, especially in 1-3rd gear I though it was the rear mount at first, but I bought a new solid mount and it didn't help

That sounds like some bad motor mounts, or a tranny mount.

You could do a visual inspection to see if the rubber in the mounts is still intact. try rocking the block back and forth to see if it moves.
Or have a helper rev the motor a bit in gear with the parking brake firmly engaged, Be extremely carefull if you do this though. If the motor rocks around thats a sign there is one or more bad mount.

You replaced which rear mount? the tranny mount or the shift linkage mount?

The block doesn't move when I rock it, I tested that a while back

What rear mount did you replace?

And have you inspected the shift linkage to ensure everthing is bolted up tightly.

I replaced the rear torque mount at the back of the transmission on the rear crossmember, I'll check my shift linkage Sunday and report back
