Anyone do an install of one of these? I haven't found that any of the models in the 92-95 civic hatchbacks came with them.

Is it going to be better to find something after market or swap in a mirror with a sensor from another vehicle? If swapping is going to be easier, any suggestions on a donor?

 

I am planning to do this. I got the sensor off one of the chevy trucks and a mirror from an 05 Chrysler sebring (One of the GNTX 50 mirrors with lights). Most higher end Chevrolet trucks have them on the front radiator core.

 

because it was never an option in civics from 92-00 for a outside temp gauge.. my 06 rsx type s doesnt even have them. they started coming into hondas in 05 in the civic's. they make 2" outside and inside temp gauges or cig plug type that could be wired to a switch or ign. power to leave the cig lighter open for your assesories.

Ha ha.... I'm making a small gauge cluster (mpg meter/gauge, vacuum, oil, and outside temp). I am considering using a temp sensor like the following.

They have them in all colors and are pretty small, so they could be made to fit nicely.
