Default 94 Honda Automatic Options

I have already replaced the auto in my 94 Accord twice, so I am thinking ahead in case I have to replace it again. I see the the trans out of a Gen 5 wagon has a slightly lower final gear ration than my sedan and should swap OK. But I also see that the trans from a 95-98 Odyssey has even lower gears, in 4th and the final ratio as well. Is it the same trans and will it interchange?

The Odyssey and 5th gen wagon all have an F series block, you should be fine. All though auto's aren't my specialty.

Wagon has a lower final drive. 95-97 Ody has an even lower final drive. 92-97 Prelude has different gear ratios and a low final drive. H & F 2.2 transmissions are externally the same.

I thought the Odyssey trans would bolt up, but I wondered if it was all electronic like the 98-up Accords. I hadn't thought about the Preludes. Definitely an option.

First gen 95-97 Odys will interchange. Replaced the blown AT in the '95 EX with a Ody unit. I was pleasantly surprised at its new found quickness. Your highway rpms will be higher for the same speed.

I travel a stretch of interstate with a very steep grade. My EX won't pull it in 4th, so I am thinking the Odyssey trans would be just the thing. Also, slowing me down a little on the interstate might be a good thing too.
