My girlfriend civic stalled when put into reverse and then while she was driving. Car is a 94 civic ex. Any ideas what would cause this?

 

Automatic? Standard? CEL? Done anything to the vehicle lately (hoseing out under the hood, alarm system install, installing new parts?)

Is this a low idle problem? In other words, can you keep the engine running if you press the gas pedal?

 

No even giving it gas doesn't help. Done nothing to it. Changed ball joints a month ago. Automatic no codes. I'm at work haven't look at it. She got it started again. Died 3 times putting into reverse. Finally got to go then driving down street died out. Then it stayed running for 10 minutes and she made it to work. All electrical is working fine and what I can tell it just suddenly cuts off

 

Any updates on this? I’m having the same problem in my 93 del sol d16z6 motor.
