Default Total Newbie and Looking to Build

Hi guys thanks for looking at my post, sorry if some of this is covered in other searches but I honestly don't even know what to search for at this point.

I am looking to build a CRX into a fun DD for the mild weather months, as I have a perfectly good 2006 Impreza to drive when the weath is sour. I am more interested in having a clean, good looking ride than blowing up people at the drag strip. So this is my plan and my questions.

I am comfortable with the power of my Impreza, and for a same power to weight ratio I would need about 115 HP in my CRX Si. So I am only looking to build up to about 130-150 HP, as this will make it quick, if not what some would call FAST. I am going to put my money into reliability and comfort/cosmetic. You will notice I am using an Si, because I am ok with added weight of sunroof and A/C etc, because I want a comfortable, fun ride.

My engine plan is a d16z6 swap or a z6 mini me, though I am thinking I will just be buying a d16z6 and having it rebuilt entirely (money into reliablility remember). My first question is if my HP goal is feasible with a N/A engine, or will I have to go turbo. My second question is whether or not OEM internals will be able to take my HP goal or do I need to upgrade. The rest I can figure out, such as interior swaps, suspension, brake upgrades, sway bars blah blah.

I just want to know what I need to do in order to obtain my HP goal so I can start a shopping list and plan a budget.

Thanks for reading and any suggestions or thread suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

I know someone else will say this, but a Ls b18 ls Its Cheep ~140hp bone stock. The entire swap can be had for less than $1800. If you already plan on doing a full engine swap, It isn't very much more work . If you spend another $800 or so go vtec and crack 180hp.

ALSO the d16z6 makes 125 factory you wouldn't have to do much... B series parts are more avalable, but the inital set up cost more.
