Icon2 '98 Dx Intsrument lights not working???

My Instrument lights and Fog lights are not working. Headlights are still working. I tore apart the cluster and checked all the wires and everything seems to be secure. I took off the fuse box cover under the steering wheel and i see that there is a fuse for the instrument lights there too, i will try replacing that tomorrow but i highly doubt that's what it is besides that can anyone think of what the problem could be?

Why do you doubt that dash fuse 30 is blown? That's the first thing to check. Click the test fuses link in my signature.

If the fuse is fine, then next test the light switch.

If the fuse blows quickly after you install it then you are being falsely led to believe the fuse is good. Voltage test it.

How exactly do you measure the voltage?

Do you have access to a multimeter?

The fuse could blow immediately after turning the light switch on.

The voltage test also tells you whether the light switch delivers voltage to the fuse.

You can buy a $4 digital multimeter from Harbor Freight Tools.

Do the voltage tests on fuse 30 with the light switch turned on to the parking lights setting.
