need help
Hi all,
I have a 1995 Honda accord 2.2 auto, every time i turn right I get a loud noise that sounds like I am gona lose the front passenager side tyre, the noise also it appears when i break in all directions. I have had the CV joint and boot replaced on the passenger side and the boot on the drivers has been recently replaced. When I went to the machanic he thought it was the cv joint which is why it was replaced but this did not fix the noise, he checked the bearing but side he wasn't sure as when the car is lifted and the wheel reotated he could not hear anything but when the wheels bear the cars load the noise reappears. he also checked the ball joints but again didnt think that this was the cause.
Has anyone had this noise and does anyone know what it can be?
I have also had my AC just give up on me, the AC poured out what looked like coolent so now thats packed up (any ideas how to fix that or how much it would cost to fix)?
Cheers for all help in advance, I really need to figure this out as I cant afford a new car and need this one to keep running for at least another year (just had a new baby)
Cheers

Regarding your AC. Sounds like your compressor died and the refridgerant along with the oil lubricant leaked out. As to the noise, sounds like your "mechanic" is just spending your money and filling his pocket. He should have pinpointed noise condition and fixed it. Did he replace 1/2 shaft? Could also be a brake/rotor problem. Further troubleshooting is needed.
Hi Jdowen,
I am off to another mechanic as I completely agree with you, no the guy (midas nz) only replaced the cv joint as that what he said it was. I do have a jitter on the steering wheel when I break but I know that my rotor has a grove in it.
I take it the compressor is gona cost alot to fix, I am gona take the car to Honda but thats going to cost a fair bit due to their labour charges.
Is there anything that I can do to try and pin point where the noise is coming from?
cheers
