Default Xpresskit craziest problem (maybe) ever.

2000 Acura tl
Viper 5301
Xpresskit XK05

The xpresskit needs to be flashes every other three days. This is the second xpresskit (XK05). I sent the first one back in for an exchanged and the second one is having the same problem.

What I have done to trouble shoot:
Reflashed the xK05, and that seems to work for a couple of days.
Insert key in ignition without any turns and start the car with the remote start, and that seems to work.

What is going on!!

And you left it at that? Did you ask them if they covered such defects? Offered replacements? Or is your unit out of warranty? If so you might be screwed.

Did you install this or a shop? Do you have an authorized dealer to take it to?

2nd replacement, so 3 units have not worked properly with same probem, have you checked your connections, how/where is the unit grounded?

Maybe it's time to try another bypass brand, we use the Fortin brand.94

All connection are solders and the system has its own ground. I am narrowing it down to the XK05 because when I re-flash the unit everything works properly as should, few days afterwards the system acts up as if it's not sensing the key. During which I can insert the key in the ignition without turning the key to any position and the system works perfectly.

I am considering using a 556U unit which I have laying around. Only bad part is I need to get a key made, which I am trying to avoid.

Both the KEY-OVERRIDE-ALL and the HONDA-SL3 will work on your car, no key required and only one key is needed to program.

Full wiring/programing instructions are avalable on their site and come with the bypass, all you need to do is make sure the unit you buy as the correct hardware and firmware version, dealer will do that. 94
