Coil-Over vs. Spring
I have a 97 GSR 2 door. I'm putting on 17x7 wheels w/ 215-40 tires. How low can I go and not have problems such as inner tire wear, fender rubbing, etc. (I really like the slammed look but don't wanna screw everything up to get it.) Should I get coil-overs or just springs? Are coil-overs harder to install than springs? I did a shock/lowering spring job on my old 88 M3, think it's harder or easier than that? Really the main thing I wanna know is how low I should go. Thanks guys.

i would get some springs. maybe something like neuspeed sport. i have done my springs and shocks on all of my hondas and it was pretty easy. btw, i am a horrible mechanic.
Go for the coilovers, you can adjust the ride hight to whatever youwant, whether it be the slammed look or normal so you can actualy drive the car. If you do plan on lowering the car a whole lot you are going to want to invest in a good camber kit to prevent uneven tire wear. I sujest a skunk 2 camber kit, I have had good luck with them. Coilovers are going to be more expensive obviously but they are going to be alot better in the long run. Skunk 2 also makes a nice set of coilovers as well as H&R. I put Tein SS on mine and love the way it rides and looks.
personally if u want a ride that is not to hard go for springs, but the disadvantage is that you can't adjust them.. i have coil-overs and it rides pretty nice and it's not too hard since i am running on 16's and also i can lower it more if i want. it's really up to your choice ... but whatever you choose u should be happy with it
go for coilovers. you eliminate the chance of regretting that you got springs. for the extra money.. it aint bad at all. there isnt a big difference in price.
If you get coilvers, get the 1 piece coilover/shocks thing. Dont get the just coil-over and drop it like 3 inches on stock shock. You car is gonna handle and drive like sh*t.

It depends on how you are going to use your car and how much you want to spend.
Real coilovers like Tein, JIC are good but little pricy. Spring are less expensive but you can not adjust them. So it comes down to you prefernces and budget.
Only thing i would not recommand are coilover sleeves.
good luck
