Fuel pump wires Getting hot
94 Integra, walbro 255 fuel pump. Car is not wanting to start, acts if the battery is dead. Sometimes it will start but very rarely. Wires get very hot while cranking.
I did search and try out somethings listed, but still not starting..
New battery
Replaced both wires to fuel pump
Main relay is clicking
There was a alarm on it before.. been disconnected, never caused a problem before.
All grounds seem ok.
Trying to get this car to the track this month.. Any help is appreciated!
Thank you.

Did you just install the walbro? If wires are getting hot than it's possible that it's drawing excessive current but then your fuse would blow.
Are you getting fuel pressure? Spark? Compression?

Well, the first thing that comes to my mind is to isolate the pump and see if it's defective (it is aftermarket, of course).
To that end, I'd run power and ground directly from the battery to the pump and see if it whines like it should and the wires stay cool as they should.

LOL only thing i could think of after reading the last post was the pump going critical and turning the fuel tank into a big bomb.
But then i remembered you would need Air in the tank and a ratio of 14.7:1 for that and the chances are Very low.
first off what size wire did you use?
14AWG would be the Best for the walbro
if you did use 14AWG and it's getting hot them the pump is BAD and starting to sieze.
if you used 16AWG~22AWG then i'm Not suprized it's getting hot.
and as a result of the pump pulling on a Small sized wire you would have damaged the pump as the pump would be getting hot as well.

This would be my second walbro I've tried assuming the previous pump was bad. I'm getting fuel spark and compression, I can start the car by push starting..Turning the key makes it turn over once, then it clicks as if the battery is dead while heating up that wire.
I bought a wire from a automotive store. Just matched up the sizes. Ill switch the wires out with 14awg and give it a try. Thanks a lot for the help everyone!

soulds like a grounding problem and it trying to draw the ground throught the Fuel pump wire check and clean ALL the grounds under the hood.
if you wire the pump to the battery directly with the wire you have now and it's Not getting hot then it your battery to engine ground is not making good contact.

Ditto the above, sure sounds like a grounding problem, check/redo your main grounds, [batt. post and cable clamp, batt. to chassis ground and chassis to engine ground] DO NOT just eyeball them, disconnect, clean and reconnect them.
I would also check the fuel pump ground. 94
