Computer burned out. Where's it located and can it be rebuilt. Mechanic says liquid burnt it it out after he messed with it. Diagnostic originaaly said egr valve needed to be replaced. Mechanic messed with computer when he burned it out said I had to pay for it.

Thanks for the reply. He also said he sent chip to Massachusetts to be "fixed" Said only original would work. Charged her $1,120. Said he couldn't afford it. She paid! I want too see paperwork and ask why gasket had had him messing with computer. Makes no sense. He found a sucker and milked her. I just wanted to find where computer sits cause he said it filled with fluid and shorted out. Isn't it inside car? Where would fluid come from thlcen?

 

The ECU sits behind the glovebox. If any fluid touched it, I would assume coolant from around the heater core.
