Default EG Si vs. VTi. vs. SiR

I am thinking about getting a Civic EG. The Si and VTi are the same models but the VTi has a single over head cam VTEC engine and the Si has a double overhead cam non-Vtec. Which would perform better aswell with mods done to it
Does anyone know if the SiR has any differences between the Aussie Spec EG apart from the B16A, because the JDM CRX have a differnet front end than the Aussie spec CRX's

Cheers

eg chassis wise:

a Si in america would have a sohc vtec 1.6

a Si in places like Japan would have a dohc hydro zc

a Vti would have a d15b Vtec 1.5 sohc vtec

a SiR would have the infamous b16a

So would the Aussie Si have the DOHC?
If so, how does it compare to the SOHC V-TEC Engine?

Cheers

DOHC VTEC puts out ~ 30hp more than SOHC VTEC. Just plain better in my opinion. DOHC has a higher compreesion also...if that matters to you.

first choice = SiR or VTi-R (b16a powered)
second = VTi (D15b Sohc vtec - 130ps)
third = Si (doesn't matter if its sohc or Dohc, stay away from DOHC ZC, they plainly suck)

Howya going mate? listen, there are many differences between the Sir and the Oz delivered Eg- not only is the engine in the Sir b16a the tranny is better (lsd) and the interior is much nicer. Im at uni in melbourne and i got a couple of mates that have genuine Sir's imported from japan (you can't get them now) and they're different vehicles in handling and performance and even the interior has more sporty mods than the Oz eg-im not sure exactly what you're after but if you want power the sohc 1.5 vtec is a good engine but it has it's limitations of course-the eg si in Oz comes in DOHC non-vtec more power but no vtec-your other option is to buy a cheap-*** eg shell (the cheapest is called the breeze with the 1.3 sohc) for about 7kAUD and do a swap depending on your needs/ for me im currently in the process of getting an ITR swap to go into my eg- i've got everything done already exept the engine, tranny, etc. if you want to find out more about this option just do a search yeah?
cya!

moron. perfect example on how people here don't READ. With all the Aussie talk, does it sound like he is from America?

Not all the guys that post on here are from America. So even though you are an SI owner you do not need to just post without reading all the thread. Just read before you post some stupid comment.
He tells you at the very end that he is comparing JDM to the Aussie spec cars. So he was not talking about American cars.

from the question, i thought he was asking out of the twin cam non vtec 1.6, or the sigle cam vtec 1.6, which is faster, and has more scope for mods.

although i do not know what the answer is.

someone i know has a vti-s JDM import and it is single cam
