Default Overheated engine..URGENT HELP!!

Hello,

PLease i need you help because we need to take fast action.

A freind of mine had an overheated engine.. the car was driven till it was out of coolant and she didnt realize until the car sudenly stoped running.

The radiator and water pump were replaced.. after that the car runs really bad, lack of power, low idle rpm and it stalls and some time while driving the oil light come on!

Whats goin on? is the head damaged due to runing without coolant? can it be fixed?

Coz her mecanic said she needs a new engine!!

PLease advice.

we were able to fix the stalling issue but it remains that the oil light is coming on after driving for few miles and some weird noise is coming from the engine.
does the overheating damage the oil pump ??

Could have a blown head gasket, spun main or rod bearings, bent crankshaft, damaged rods and psitons etc.

The mechanic is right, the engine needs to torn down and inspected, or just replaced.

At first I was going to say to check for any vacuum leaks in the hoses. I too had an overheating issue due to there being air bubbles in the lines still but this just sounds like something completely different. I'm thinking she toasted the motor and starved it of oil. I'm with the mechanic on this one. Tear the motor down and start over as shitty as that sounds. Maybe it is still salvageable. Best of luck bro.

well have you checked what the engine light is for?

you might have baked the oil and blocked the oil passages so theres no oil pressure or the oil pump is busted.
your seals are probably plastic as well instead of rubber and will leak very soon from every hole.
and water hoses are also brittle from overheating so they will crack and leak

you cant just"replenish the fluids"and keep driving after things like that. theres no magic fix yaal engine fluid.

I'd be concerned that you've spun a rod bearing and are in that time period between when it begins to fail and when the rod comes out the side of the block.

word i agree tear the block down cause once the car shuts of from over heating its for a reason and one thing is that could have happened is that the engine got so hot that some parts get stuck together or chnage the shape they were in like i had a jeep come into my shop that shut down from over heatting and he ended up with a warped head
