so yesterday i got this hatch it turned on drove it and the check engine light turned on so i got home parked the car and the car wouldnt start so we tried jump starting it and it started so today in the morning i got up and tried to start it and nothing tried jump starting it and nothing again what can it be ?



i was told to check ignition switch and nothing it had a relay mikey rigged to it but 2 other wires werent connected to anything so i bought a new switch and installed and nothing so my friend says there has to be a light on on the ecu and i get no light when i turn the key

 

Need more details. What is it doing? Turning over and not starting or nothing when you turn the key? If the cel came on you should be able to turn the switch on and watch the flashes on the ecu led (assuming the switch is sending power to the ecu).

well is the car trying to crank over or no power to the starter at all?

 

no none of gas or fuel ligts came on i got a new ignition shitch nd when i took out the old one it had a relay switch rigged to it dont know if i need to re wire it to the new switch

 

Read the CEL code from the LED on the ECU. See CEL code sticky at the top.
