what part of an engine usually deteriorates the most? Like say you have an engine with like 150k on it , can you put a low milage complete head on it to make it perform like it has less miles ? or do pistons and rods start to mess up too? im just trying to get around an engine swap ............thanks

 

just taking a guess at it:

You can change the spark plug wires
Drain and change the fluids
Make sure all the seals have not worn away
you can change the pistons etc...

I mean you can do a lot of things, it just depends on if you want to, if you want to spend the money, or just swape it.

I konw you said you dont want swap it, but sometimes that is the easiest thing to do, since parts and labor can be a bitch unless you can do it yourself...

your whole car deteriorates over time... especially with as many miles as you drive. only those things you replace obviously will be newer. the only thing you can do is rebuild the motor and replace things that are going bad.
