Hi
Some urgent advice is needed please, just purchased from a dealer for £3000 a 2002 Honda Civic SE Automatic. Am based in the uk so need to get it taxed at the post office on Friday BUT just got it yesterday (drive home fine).

Problem is trying to start it now the dashboard lights come on ok (no warning lights in pos 2 except batt, seatbelt, p light, but when I turn the key to position 3 to start the car I just hear a quick clicking sound coming from the engine.

Does that sound like the battery ? Or starter motor ?

am gutted to be honest, need to solve it ASAP so I can either get my money back or get out the ak47 !!!

Any advice welcome please !!

P.s this car has 65 k, full stamped honda service history, had a Cam belt change in 2009 and in perfect condition, just won't start ! (Could it be the immobiliser but that warning light is not on !)

 

Jump start it if it doesn't work return it

 

Thanks you for the advice but I thought that even if the car battery is low it would still start ? It's a automatic version and has supposedly just been serviced ? (As you can tell I know nothing about cars :-( but am fuming)

 

call the dealer and tell them it wont start. they should either fix it or take it back.

 

Thanks guys, called the dealer they said its my fault as I must of left a light on (I know I had not !) so I just said come around with a low loader and take the car back as I want a refund.

They are going to send someone out to change the battery.

 

Someone came and changed the battery, all working now

 

lol. nice. good job on holding your ground.

 

Alot of these cars sit on the lot for a long time and the battey eventually drains, thats probably all that happened, at least they took care of it.
