Help removing scratch/scrape paint from car??
some douche in a parking garage scraped up against my rear bumper over the weekend. It left a big long white mark on the plastic bumper. I can scratch some of it off with my hand but most of it is still there.
are there any products I can use to wipe off the rest of this crap and see what actual damage, if any, was done to the bumper so I'll know how to buff on it to get it back looking good?
only thing I've seen was some dude's youtube video where he was using a paint/graffiti remover to get the paint off but I have no clue if he was using something safe for auto finishes or what...wish I could find that video again too lol.

I dont know if this will help, but say if you find a product, wont It take Away Your paint as well as The marks You are Trying to remove? Chances are some of his paint is engraved in your paint, you can try a VERY LIGHT amount of paint thinner, thats what i would try 1st..sorry i cant Help Out much, Good Luck!
I'm with rukus. I would tape off the area. Wet sand gently with 1500 or 2000 then buff. It should remove the other persons paint and whatever scratch it left in your clear. (Assuming there is no real damage)

X2 on the 3M adhesive remover. If that's not enough dual action polisher with a single step polish on a medium to soft foam pad (Menzerna a SIP would be my polish of choice). Don't use a rotary polisher on that bumper.
1. lacquer thinner to remove white.
2. if there are scratches in your paint depending on how deep you might be able to just use some compound and buff it out.
3. last resort wet sand with 2000 grit then buff.
