Who uses AMSOIL synchromesh?
I been running honda mtf since i owned 873. Never had a problem. My question is, i wanted to run AMSOIL synchromesh but my dealer said that the ITR wasn't recommend to run it cause when he looked for the caR. It doesn't show up in his system so it wouldn't be safe for him to sell it to me. I always run AMSOIL 10w30 engine oil in my R and so had the owner before, thats why i wanted to try using the their syncromesh. Kind of keep it all AMSOIL. I have heard of people using it for our Rs. Some say good and bad things about it like its bad for our LSD but other say its great. Im really just curious and would like some feed back if anyone has had experience with running it. Like i said i never had a problem with honda's but She does see the track (autoX) a couple times a year. So i would like something a little more race/aftermarket? Also recommendations on other MTF like GM, Redline, ect would be great. Thanks guys
I used amsoil in my old py and use it in the eg. Never had any problems. Both have seen the track semi frequent. I know of some track only caR's that use it as well.
haven't used amsoil but did use redline MTL in my old itr transmission. MTL shifts great and like everything else from redline is a top notch product.
i actually soak my mountain bike freehubs in MTL once a year and they frigin whiz. extremely smooth and a noticeable difference from various other lubes i've tried

A friend of mine purchased a JDM ITR engine and transmission swap, and he uses Amsoil Synchromesh as well. In fact, he used to be an AmSoil wholeseller. No problems whatsoever.
^^thanks guys. Im getting other good feed back elsewhere also. Like i said i was shocked when my dealer looked up and couldn't fine the ITR spec for running their syncromesh. I told him lots of other guys are running it in their Rs and i know they make it for hondas but i told him ill do some research first be for i use it.
I switched from fairly fresh OEM mtf to Amsoil in a low mileage TL type S (6spd w/LSD) and it was night & day difference in a good way. Most 6spd guys rave above it taking away their 3rd gear grind.
I have Redline in my ITR trans and it feels like it may be a bit on the thin side of lubrication or just time to freshen up the fluid. Just my feeling. I think I may drain the Redline and try Amsoil this go round.
