Default Coolant Leak

Howdy yall. I got a question here. I have been losing coolant pretty bad in my car. I noticed the other day while putting more in, that I hear a drip coming from the back side of the motor. So I got under it, pulled the tire off and pulled the oil filter off and I see theres what looks like a metal hose going all along the backside of the motor with a big ol crack in it. Water just running out. Does anyone know what the name of this hose is? How hard is it to replace it? It also has a couple little hoses coming off of it.

Thanks for taking time to read this.

I don't remember what it's called but it's a dealer item. Or the cheaper way is to go to the junk yard and pull one yourself. It's time consuming but too UN God awfully hard to do. Just dawned on me. Water pump inlet tube. Make sure you replace the o-rings on it too

Yeah I just did a little research on the water pump inlet tube. Probably be cheaper to get it from the junk yard instead of on line. No shipping and you get it faster.

Your going to be over and under the car. You have too drain all of the coolant, and remove the thermostat housing and all houses and then get under the car and there is a "strap" welded to the tube that has a bolt in it holding it to the block. Once that's out the just wiggle and twist the tube out. Installation is the reverse of removal. This while job can be done with a10mm socket, pliers and screwdriver. Pretty easy really.

Its the pipe that directly attaches the water pump to the thermostat. Just remove your thermostat housing, and pull the pipe off. Get the new pipe and all new O-rings. I would also suggest replacing your heater hoses/FITV/IACV hoses. They get old, swell, and you'll eventually be replacing those too.

You may also want to invest a few bucks on better hose clamps too, as they will make your life (and repairing) a whole lot easier and are more reliable than stock clamps.

Stock clamps are made to expand and retract as the hose does the same with temp changes. Reason is for that exact purpose, and many techs doesn't know about this. They take them off and replace them with worm clamps which does not expand when the hose gets hot and wants to expand.
