Anyone else almost crash after suspension adjustments?
A few months ago I decided to turn the damping on my suspension all the way tight(front and rear). I had drivin with it all the way loose 6 months or so before that. Right after adjusting it I jumped on the highway and started driving how I normally do. With the suspension all the way loose I was usually able to yank on the wheel and change lanes, not this time... someone cut me off pulling out of mcdonalds and I yanked on the wheel like I had serveral serveral several times before. The rear end wiplashed and I lost traction in the rear completely. I then spun in 3 or 4 circles while going 65 or 70 and smashed into a MPH sign and came to a halt in the middle of the highway(theres a big *** area of grass seperating oncoming thankfully.)
The sign split completely in half and was 20 or 30 feet away from my car(I hit the sign with my passenger fender while sliding sideways)
I was so flustered that when the cops asked what happened I couldnt even figure out why I spun out like a dumbass. I get pulled over serveral weeks later and the cop says "o ya your that goofball(dumbass) that spun out blah blah" I still forgot to tell him I was ******* with my suspension but moral of the story, be carefull when you mess with the stiffness of your car, the tires dont like to grip the road at high speeds...
and youll look like a dumbass when you crash

Who cares? I've been monkeying around with my Honda's suspension for years now. NEVER had any kind of issue like the one you're describing. I'll stand by my statement that you simply lack enough driving experience at this point.
"The trend here is that FF cars both accelerate and turn better with a stiff rear suspension. The trade-off is that they get really twitchy as speed increases. "

Provide all the links you want. I've never crashed my car after I've done anything to my suspension. Don't know how to handle oversteer? Inexperienced driving plus ignorance in how your suspension actually works.
And your link is for "Wings on FF Cars - Aero Magic". So?

Yanking the wheel to change lanes like you are in The Fast and The Furious?

Yanking the wheel because someone pulled out in front of you?

All show inexperienced and dangerous driving. Fluid like movements young grasshopper. Whoever told you to drive a car by yanking the wheel in a jerking/twisting motion has probably experienced a herniated disc moving furniture lol.
Yanking the wheel as a suspension test?

Everyone is just offended by my sig. which now understand why. It sounded cocky and dick headed. obviously im not the best driver out there and no i dont yank the wheel all the time(just last second thing for example and as you can imagine I dont do that anymore..) Signature has been fixed
Listen up, nobody gives a rats *** what your signature says. You're not hated on for going hard and being the best. You are laughed at for being immature and having your head up your ***. It's ok, I remember when I was 15 too, you will grow out of it.
15? thats just cold... Not sure why I have my head up my ***(feel free to elaborate) I just came on a car forum to post my opinion that obviously no1 agrees with. Immature for loosing control in my car? this is all so interesting.
Wondering why you would go from full soft to full stiff? Care to elaborate since it's a drastic change to suddenly do, especially without benefitting from previous experience.
In any event there's a lot more to tuning a suspension than what you read in a tuning magazine. You would really gain a lot from checking out local autocross events where you can play with all sorts of suspension tuning including tire pressures in a safe environment, all the while benefitting from other competitors feedback and insight. Additionally you can see for yourself that smooth inputs are a lot faster than yanking and twitchy movements. Reading a magazine won't help you in the least.

I just wanted a drastic change so that all the change in handling characteristics would be noticeable. I change around tire pressures, ride height, and alignment and things every once in a while to see what works out best. I really do drive 4 hours a day 7 days a week(last 2 years) through the mountains and **** so my experience is building(i also push way to hard). Im dying to get a track day or autox experience under my belt but havent had the oppurtunity
And yes I change my tires, and brakes, way to often. I change my oil once a month... Id make a lot more money if i could get on a track or something and stop wasting so much gas while working..
