Icon6 b18 ls or d16zc swap 95 eg civic coupe?

My d16z6 harmonic balaner bolt broke off and damaged the threads internaly really bad ...not worth fixing had cyl.3/4 low compression so decided to just get another engine wat would be the best swap to do d16zc (cant find z6 at any store near me with a resonable price) or ls engine swap b18...not planning on boosting.
the zc comes with long block and trany should be a straight drop in right?
i reasurched and looks like it is.
$1200 shipped from texas from a engine company...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/92-95-HONDA-...50965907283%26

By the way this is my daily and need to get running asap ordering engine next week.

i know d16zc is not smog legal due to jdm engine but not really woried about that.

Why not another z6 since you are in Cali?

He probably just needs it running for now, and could take care of smog stuff later

Not really sure how they do that stuff in Cali

Why not rebuild it?

Pick up a crank for a hundred, get your block line honed, run oversized bearings, and rebuild it. You'll still come out a hell of a lot cheaper than the cost of a swap. No, it is not a "drop in".

LS motors are getting a little scarce these days.
Most on craigslist are beaten and put away wet.
Meatheads think they can get 800 plus for a 150K mileage engine.
You can try attarco and see if you can get a jdm engine, or maybe even Hmotorsonline.
Keep in mind you will have to change over some items like intake and harness to get it to work right.
Motor mounts can be sourced from a 94-up LS.
Then you will have to visit city college and get it Bar'd.
If you have all your emissions connected and working its should be a snap to get it bar'd
then you'll have a much quicker car than the D16.
I have done this before and it makes a much livlier car than stock.

Agreed with LS engines getting pricey. B20's in south florida have jumped from 550 to 750! And if you want the 99+ years, you pay more! WTF!

I'd go b18 for more torque.

IIRC, the 99+ B20's have something like .2:1 more compression, so they put down a ****hair more power. OP, however, is in CA, and I didn't think we generally gave intentionally illegal advice here.
