01 Accord V6 3.0 Code P1399
I have a 2001 Honda 3.0 195,000 miles. It's been serviced regularly. My wife was driving it to work and it started missing with the check engine light flashing. She pulled off the road and as she stopped it died. It starts and runs, but is extremely rough.
The only code is a P1399. I've already changed the plugs, changed one coil I thought might not be working. Nothing changed. I changed the cam sensor because my scan tool didn't show a value for it so I figured I'd try it. Again nothing changed. Front three plugs looked good. The back three plugs were gas fouled. I checked the cam timing to make sure that the belt had not slipped. Everything is fine. We ran a compression test and the first two times cylinder 1 showed 0. All the others showed 185-190. The third and fourth time I checked 1 it showed 185-190. Not sure what happened there. I checked the EGR and it is not stuck open. Ports are not clogged up.
Any ideas? I'm dying here!

No. It's not. It shows 'multiple random misfire'. That is according to my Snap-On modis. I've searched around and found others who have had the same problem, but no real solution.
That's an idea, seems extremely unlikely for that many springs to go at the same time just cruising but maybe. I have removed and inspected the rocker assemblies and it all looks very good, especially for 200k miles. Thanks for the advice, I will try it while I have it apart.

I had this pop up on my 2001 V6 Accord; one coil solved the issue. Just move the coils around and/or unplug one coil at a time and track the miss. If you opt to buy a new coil don't buy a cheap one; RockAuto sells the OEM Denso coils for $57.79, and if that is more than you want to spend, I have also heard positive reports on the NGK coils which they sell for only $35.79 but have never used them myself or on any of the cars I've worked on.
