Is there such a thing as door droop?
I get out of my car, I drive a 2000 em1, and I notice the door seems to drop a bit. Doesn't have any problems closing, and when I close it, it's not like the door goes back up. It's a very slight drop. Two questions: anybody ever have to adjust their doors, any tricks? And the other, bigger question: I work on my car a lot and when u have a jack with limited travel, getting the car high enough to do almost anything is a front-back-front-back etc... Process. I'm very careful, however I did drop the back of the car onto stands once from about 4-5" due to THE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS TORIN BLACKJACK SOLD AT COSTCO (ya'll be careful now), but other than that its always small increments. So did my door droop because I messed up the body? Any input is grrreeeaaatttt
I have this also, the door closes ok, but I need new hinge pins. It is probably just from normal use. At my old job I drove from place to place all day long for years, opening the door and closing it all day long. Hopefully an easy job to fix.
if you loosen the bolts attaching the hinges to the body you should be able to adjust angle. either get the U-shaped wrench, or take the fenders off. at least they're easier to get to than a mk4 gti (had to remove dash!!)
