Default Gas mileage question

How many miles do you guys on average get on a full tank if you have a 90-93 accord?

Between 350 - 375 for the tank using 87. Some people might say that using 91 or other higher octane will prolong the mileage is a myth. I've done that for a few months, and thought I did okay. And when I finally tried 87 (which is what the manufacturer recommended in the first place), I actually got more miles and saved at the pump. (I actually did some figure checking by recording my progress for months using 87 and 91, going from the highest point of the full gauge all the way down until the gas light came on. Huge difference costwise at the pump.)

Don't use higher octane unless the manufacturer recommends or if your ride is boosted...

Using the higher octane than manufactures recommend won't increase your fuel mileage. I have personally tested it. If the engine isn't high compression there is no use using a higher octane fuel. It actually brings your mileage down. Like i said i have personally tried on my Jeep V8 civic 92 and accord 97. Got the same results from all.

Well it depends in how you drive as well as how the vehicle is operating. If you haven't done a FULL tune up, then i would suggest you do that. Especially change the fuel filter. A clogged filter will decrease you mileage a lot. Just do the usual. Fuel filler, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, oil and filter change, pcv valve, and air filter.

I see. That's true. I've done all the oil, pcv, fuel filter, air filter. Not the wires tho. My whole distributor set are pretty new (3 months old). Ill check more on my stuff. Thanks for info.

Is your car an auto or manual? My car is auto and it around 300-320 to the tank. However, I fill it up once it's down to the quarter full. My gas mileage is around 19-26 depending on how much freeway I use.

I get about 350 around town and 400+ miles for 100% highway driving with cruise control.
