I can't open the hood of my 2003 Odyssey. The hood release works, but when I try to open the latch under the hood, it never releases the hood. Is there something I can do with the inch or two that it opens to get it fully released?

 

Take your flathead screwdriver with the widest head, stick it in the latch and twist or pry the latch apart enough to release the hood.

 

Thanks. I wasn't able to get that to work, but a guy at the local auto parts store showed me a trick. Instead of grabbing the handle of the hood release at the end (closest to the front of the car), he grabbed it farther back, and there it had enough leverage to open the hood.
