my buddy snapped his timing belt while he was driving. now does he need a new head? the mechanic he took it to didnt look inside cus of the labor involved in it, but i was curious, will a new head remedy his engine? cars a 1991 DX hatch.

 

it will be very nice to take the head off..... u can change the head gasket while u at it.. u can see for bad valves, cilynder walls., pistons conditions....i say open it urself.... and if u break it u have a reason to swap...
