2nd gear grind
Hi guys
About 2 weeks ago I had my slave cylinder go out and the clutch pedal was stuck to the floor, in order for me to get it changed I had to drive it down the street to a shop without a clutch, when doing this I sort of pushed it into second gear while fiddling with the clutch and it grinded into second. After a successful slave cylinder change I noticed 2 things:
1. The clutch is on its way out because it is slipping in almost every gear.
2. Every time try putting the car into 2nd gear it grinds.
I have changed the transmission fluid using GM Synchro Mesh which didn't really do anything for the 2nd gear grind. I asked 2 different mechanics and both of them say it is a problem with the clutch and not the transmission but having owned a few preludes now I know that it could be a problem with the 2nd gear synchro. Now my question is: is it possible for the clutch to only cause grinding in 1 gear?
A few other things: If the car is not moving or moving really slow at low rpms there is no grind. When the car is off it slips right into gear with or without the clutch as usual. Lastly if the car is on and the clutch is not pressed, I push the shifter toward 2nd gear and it starts grinding unlike any other gear.

just wear and tear. unfortunatly from the way you describe it it is not comming from the clutch. your second gear synchro is almost gone. hence if you shift it slow the gears arnt forced so it doesnt grind. tear apart the tranny and replace all the synchros and youll be good.
