you should check your block, my a6 recently over heated and the head is currently off. i plan on taking the block out and getting it checked out and maybe resurfaced. but i was wondering if any of you honda diy wizards know where i could get a headgasket to help compromise for the shaved metal off both the block and head...because wouldnt that increase the compression ratio?? any info will help

yeah, the thermostat can be it. it might not be opening once the operating temp is reached.

You can check to see if the T-stat is working by letting the car warm up and check to see if both hoses are hot. This would mean the t-stat is opening. They are not that expensive. I would just replace anyways.
