Hi!
Recently I had to replace a blown fuse in the footwell and discovered two unused plugs/wires as seen on the picture.
I have no freaking idea what these plugs are good for...
Car details: civic eg hatch 1992 EDM (LHD)

Any help is appreciated!

 

If it wasn't connected to anything before and is capped off, its probably one of those connectors that would go to something optional on your car.

 

I first thought it could be for the power windows but got informed it wasn't, then people said it could be for heated seats?

My car doesn't have any optional goodies, no power door locks, no power folding mirrors whatsoever...
Maybe deschlong knows something about it?

 

^ Probably, but you're going to have to give me more info. Better pictures and wiring colours to start with.

it looks like the brake switch plug...check if u have brake lights

 

Brake plug is 2-pin and blue, except for vehicles with cruise (4-pin) -- but no Civics with cruise in Europe (well, maybe in Belgium, actually).

 

my brake switch plug looks excatly like that thats why im saying... i guess we nee to find out till he checks

 

Looks like foglight plugs to me. Should be 2 under there. All cars come with the plugs, whether they have foglights or not.

 

In the first picture you see the brown plug and on pic # two you see where it goes, it has five cables. Two of them go right behind the fusebox which are connected with a green plug that's plugged in (marked on pic #2). The other three cables go to a other seperate harness which looks like it goes underneath the dashboard.

On the last pic you see the white plug taped with blue duct tape. It has only one (white) cable which goes right into the wiring harness on which it is taped on. The wiring goes right under the carpet towards the backside of the car.

 

What are the colours of the wires in the brown plug? Now I am thinking *maybe* for the OEM EDM Immobilizer, but I am unsure.

 

black, yellow, green, white and blue if I remember right

 

Well I see one that is BLK/YEL, so go check and make sure you're right before just guessing.

There you go: 2x black/green, black, white, yellow

Yes, I suspect it's for the OEM EDM Immobilizer.
