Swapped dash & engine harness, car is acting up.
Hello H-T, I know this is a long shot but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.
I have a 1999 CX hatchback. It has a B18C swap with OBD1 distributor and alternator.
When I purchased the car, the dash and engine harness was pretty haggard so I went to the junk yard and found an OBD2B dash harness from a civic and an OBD2B engine harness from a CRV. On the engine harness, I changed the alternator plug to OBD1 and added the second plug for the distributor as instructed by a write up I found on this site.
I also got both fuse boxes from the donor civic. I swapped all this into my car and this is where the problems start.
The car was running fine before I swapped everything but now it sounds like it is running on two cylinders and after about five seconds of running the interior fuse box started smoking. After that happened, my tachometer goes to 4k and sits there when I turn the key on. I have checked and rechecked all my sensors and injectors to make sure I had them plugged up correctly. Checked all grounds. Tried two different chipped P28s....
What's going on H-T??! :/

I am not sure either, but it came off a B20 and was the right year. lol.
edit: Just found where other people are using CRV harnesses problem free.

My bad, the write-up I followed was on Club Civic:

Yes, my check engine light is on, I haven't had time to mess with it from working so much. I will see what the code is tomorrow after I get off.... Although I have turned most of my sensors off on my tuning program.
Sorry to sound so noobish, I've been messing with Hondas for a while now but wiring definitely isn't my strong point. haha
