Im building my 2nd engine. Tore down a jdm b16a that was equipped with p30 pistons. So, I assume this was a 2nd gen. While tearing it down I found that there was no girdle. I thought all vtec dohc engines had girdles. Anyone with rebuilding engine experience seen this before? I dont think this has been rebuilt.

 

b16, ls, b20s did not have them. gsr and itr did.

 

b16's have a near perfect rod/stroke ratio. it doesnt need one.
