want some help i talk to some people and they say that they would rather have ls vtec for the torque and some say that they would rather have a b16 so that you can rev higher need to kno what other people think. i have a b18b1 and i have a b16a so i have the stuff to build wanna kno what people think

Just do the LS Vtec.... They will rev almost as high if built properly...

And will be the faster car overall...

X2. . . LSV weve built one before stock block no oil squirter or girdle but revd all the way 9000rpm without any problems haha.

well **** i think im going to start building my motor then. what kinda compression should i be running with the ls and b16a pistons?

Will you be using a B16 head ? and pr3 pistons or p30 pistons. they yield a little difference.

with the pr3 ( b16a2 and first gen jdm b16 ) you will be around the 11.3 compression add a little if you shave your head.

with the P30s 11.5

Then you got everything to go , Buy the ARP rod and head stud kit,. ( new waterpump and oil pump if you can $$ ) then a vtec conversion kit of choice. New rings, A hone . bearings etc etc.

LSV=****...if not built RIGHT

LSV=BEAST...if built RIGHT



B16=LOW TQ. (however, if you know how to drive em' you can run with 1.8s all day!!!)

Please elaborate on the "building" part. What was done to the motor and how did it run. Help this guy out cuz yeah if a b16 is done right itll run with the 1.8's.
