B18c 96spec with Stage 2 blox cams question!
So I have a 4DR RS Integra with a B18C 96spec motor and has stage 2 blox cams with adjustable cam gears and the current exhaust that I have is not enough to allow Vtec to run smoothly. We took off the exhaust and cat and ran straight headers and vtec ran smoothly, but with it on the car slows down when vtec runs, and I'm guessing because there isnt enough airflow. The car had stock LS headers on it so I purchased type r headers just not sure about what exhaust will work so that I don't buy a new exhaust and the vtec isn't fixed. Thanks!
LOL what? Is the motor even tuned?
But about your exhaust question any 2.5 - 3' exhaust would work. Don't know how that will fix your vtec though ahahaha.

So no, the motor is not tuned, and the reason why I've been holding off was because I thought I should get the vtec figured out and the motor running well in order to get it tuned. But then again I personally don't know what the tuning process is. The cams were in the motor before it was swapped and was tuned. But I didn't think when you got tuned they would fix all the problems first and I thought it would be bad if the motor was running healthy and it got tuned.
not a good idea to be Vtecing/driving the car hard with it un-tuned if it has stage 2 cams. hope you have the VT upgraded. don't know what the lift durration/max lift is but check to see if they require you to degree them.
How do you plan on getting the engine running well without tuning it? That's what tuning is for. Unless of course there is some other problem, like a vacuum leak, fuel delivery problem, or compression problem, which you will need to get fixed before tuning it. In the meanwhile lay off the throttle until you know that the engine is running safely.

So I was assuming that everything needed to be good before getting the car tuned. And right now the vtec engages but the car bogs down. Mechanic pulled off the mag highflow cat and exhaust and the vtec ran how it was suppose to be. So I didn't think that tuning would fix that problem but that if I was going to change exhaust etc that I should change the exhaust before getting it tuned. But I'm curious if the tune up will fix that problem. I was looking into a Tanabe Concept G exhaust system, but I don't want to buy an exhaust and the problem still continues even with a tune up, but these are just assumptions.
I'm just trying to make the car run healthy with what I was given, no major upgrades are gonna happen haha. Just these cams are making it a bit harder haha.
The only way to know if the exhaust is restricting any form of air flow is by strapping it down onto a dyno. That will be your best bet besides assuming it's your exhaust and that everything else is functioning the way it's suppose to.
not a tune up..... although you should probably start there. but when they say tune they are talking about Fuel maps and such. you need a chipped ecu. and a Dyno. and more reading time on ht

you'll blow the car up if you don't get it tuned soon
the reason it runs like *** is the tune. if you don't change it ringlands are what typically go from detonation
very dangerous to drive those cams on a stock ecu
