My transmission has been getting progressively worst over the past few months and i want to replace it so i can give the car to my brother and buy a new one. Looking online hmotors has a 96-00 HX CVT trans fro $200 plus shipping but i was wondering if it will fit into my car. I am not sure if they have others because they are closed and i cannot call them until Tuesday. When searching there are questions going from an HX to a DX transmission but not a DX to HX. -Thanks

By the way the car is a 97 civic DX, forgot to mention that

 

Mounts are different, there really wont be any easy way of getting it in there.

 

Different to the point of being welded in different locations, if memory serves correctly. Just from looking at the schematic and parts lists for both, they're noticeably different.

System Name\Component : ENGINE MOUNT (MT)


System Name\Component : ENGINE MOUNT (CVT)

 

It doesn't fit and it's controlled differently. You can't use an EX trans either as you'll get a P0715 code due to a different 3rd gear ratio. It needs to be a CX/DX/LX trans.
