Okay so we got the engine in with no problem.. Had a little issues with getting it to run with out missing, fixed that. Well we took her out for a gentle ride to the gas station and filled her up. Well on our way back my buddy says "Get on it a bit," so i did. Well wound out first gear, hit second did the same, hit third same thing, left off put it in 4th and let the speed drop (i was going about 80 in a 35) as she slowed down i went to give it some gas and you heard it want to go but it seemed to bog out every time i hit the gas then it died.. Gave us some problems starting then it fired up and we went back to his place to figure this out and we are stuck... Any ideas what could be going on? Would appreciate all the input and suggestions you all have!

What ECU and wire harnesses?

CEL codes?

 

It is an ECU for an 0bd0 LS. And the engine harness came off my D16A6. The one with the LS I got was all hacked up to hell and back.

Clogged fuel filter or fuel injectors?

Measure the fuel pressure and test the FPR while you're at it.

 

is it still DPFI or MPFI? Not sure if your motor needs a resistor box>

 

Sure sounds like a vacuum leak. Better check all the lines to make sure they're still on and if so, check for cracks or splits in the hoses. Usually happens at the connection points..

 

We figured it out... believe it or not it was a bad ground... I feel stupid as hell! On another note thank you all for all the input i appreciate it!

It has been MPFI since i bought it the guy swapped a D16 into it.
