2000 Civic Ex low idle and stalling
There is no cel on. When the car is warmed up it idles so low the tach barely has a reading and completely dies and has to be restarted. Accelerating and driving seem to be normal. I just have to keep pushing down the gas to keep the car from stalling out. It's a d16y8 with a manual transmission.
Have you checked your IAC valve yet? It might possibly be dirty enough to cause idling issues which is fairly common. I have a similar issue on my 1995 VX. My car idles at about 500 rpm and the idle will sometimes fluctuate as well but, my car never actually stalls.
Remove your throttle body and clean it real well with TB or carb cleaner.( watch not to damage the gasket otherwise you'll need a new one )..Do the same with The IACV....also get some Injection cleaning additive and dump it in your gas tank...run it for a few miles...and see how it goes.... It should fix your issue....( considering there is no cel it should be a mechanical problem )....
I cleaned the IACV and its still doing it. The cel does work but is not on. I have noticed that it only goes really low or dies when it's fully warmed up. If I rev the engine, the idle will go really low or die.

I have had this car for almost 4 and a half years. It has been fine with the idle up until now. That makes me think something is dirty, broken etc and adjusting the idle is more of a bandaid and not a repair.
What have you recently done to the car? Have you reset the ECU? Any Maintenance?
Believe it or not, I had an S13 that would turn off if I didn't hold my foot on the throttle. I took it to my mechanic to see what he thought of it and he adjusted the idle speed. Afterwards, the car stayed on by itself and idled at the proper level as well. I didn't think that would be the cause of my issue either but, it's worth taking a look at. If I were you, I would actually be relieved to know that the solution to my problem was as simple as adjusting the idle speed.
I wasn't trying to come off rude. I just figured it was about adjusting the screw and not the entire procedure that is outlined in the helms. Nothing really just an oil change. I will give it a try and report back.
