Default Recommendation on parts to replace while changing engine?

Hi guys, I have a Acura CL 2.3 with F23A engine. Some friends and I will be replacing this engine with a used one due too bad cylinder. I already have a new distributor, ignition wires, plugs, cap and rotor on the original engine. What other parts should we look at replacing before putting the replacement engine in? I am buying the replacement engine at a salvage yard and it will have most of the external parts still attached. So could pick and chose which parts to keep. One thing different is that this new engine came from a manual transmission and I have an auto. However, I think that shouldn't be an issue since I can just remove the clutch, etc.

Obvious parts I was going to replace include the timing belt and water pump, as well as check the condition of the hoses. Anything else?

Thanks!

Make sure that your radiator is fairly clean, maybe not need a new one but it's a good idea to do a flush. If you're gonna plug it into a newish engine, might be a wise not to let anything build up in the block.

Ok, good advice. A shop mentioned they usually drop these from the bottom. Is it that hard to just go thru the top using engine hoist. We don't have a lift.

I recently change my 95 Honda Accord engine and replace the following: Tranny, left, front motor mounts, and struts along w/alignment and balance; replaced VSS, Map sensor, and EGR; cleaned TB Manifold, IAVC, FITV, and Lockup Solenoid A&B; also replaced radiator and hoses. Plus, tranny oil use honda's... better to buy them thru e-bay you'll save.... Car runs like new... I just need to change TPS and engine wire harness...

I managed to used car/tire jack hoist with no problems to change Tranny, left and front motor mounts. It took me 3 hours because I had trouble inserting bolt, and it was getting dark. I think you will be done in less than an hour using engine hoist.

I think having a lift makes it a lot easier, but using a hoist works just fine.
