Default what temp should cooling fan come on

93 del dol put new thermostat in and had tem gauge in the radiator neck it got up to about 225 and still the fan didnt come on ! what is the ballpark temp that the fan should come on ?

My fan comes on at about 203 degrees F +/- a few degrees. Can't remember what the manual say but its close to this.

225 coming out of the head at the water neck is not to high, that is the water that is just leaving the engine and would be the hottest.

The stock coolant fan switch sees coolant that has gone through the radiator and turns the fan on no later than 205, and which point the water coming out of the head is probably 225-230 and is fine

Definetely verify your fan comes on though
